Keep Torpoint Tidy

I thought you'd like to know how the clean-up went on !

Sunday (1st). December 2013

There were 6 ladies who turned up to help and we collected 9 bags of rubbish altogether from the woods and woodland walk-way from Grove Park down to the back of Costcutter. We also did the walk-way running down along the back of Sennen Close up to the Children's play-park, and also cleared the field behind the Sports Centre and down into the woods.

We found an area in the woods where drinkers are obviously meeting and dumping their tins and bottles all over the place, so I have reported this to the Mayor, who has reported this matter to Cory, the Police and Cornwall Council to see if something can be done.

The ladies were fantastic and did a great job.

Despite the gale warnings we managed to clear 7 full sacks of rubbish from the side of the road coming into Torpoint (from Anthony), the field behind the Sports Centre and the woodland walkway towards Trevol Road.

The Council obliged by collecting the sacks the next day (Monday).
I hope to do a regular monthly session so if anyone wants to join in the next one, it will be sometime towards the end of November. Also if you think an area in Torpoint is in great need of a clear-up please let me know.
