Coming Ashore rowed by Dad All afloat Family Haines!

Philip and Family Arrived Thursday 29th July 2021

Arrive to curry dinner It was good but I didn’t make enough rice Reuben asked to go on Flight Simulator and was keen to do so any time we had spare as I had only updated it to the latest edition the Helicopter didn’t work but all else was fair game.

Friday
forecast rain. During covid " The Box Plymoth " was booking only, we got a Booking for 16:30hrs a bit late but that was all that was available. So local trip to Plymouth Parked in Drake shopping centre walked down and then out to barbican looked in some charity shops

Fish Chips & Hamburger!

before going to the waterfront restaurant most had fish & Chips nice Phil had a burger. On to the Hoe and checked in at the lighthouse it was not open I sat down on the top until Paulene phoned to say meet and have an ice-cream with them we went down and had one from a van on the road it was spitting at times with rain so when we were all served, we went down to a lower level and found shelter but it was not needed now was time to walk to the Box. It was very good but after walking a lot I was looking for the seats often, Paulene & I went in the wrong way so saw the 'Mayflower 400: Legend and Legacy' exhibition for free under 18s get in free any way. As we left at 17:00hrs the ferry que was up the hill so Paulene, Hannah and Reuben went across on foot and started dinner. At the Lunch Paulene had seen a craft picture and decided that that could be the art project. That evening we had a film “The Son of Bigfoot”

Saturday

Cut out the Board for the work of art, and Bethany painted the background first. walk to Rame Head Phil asked if the road was one way as the roads were only one car wide so it was lucky we didn’t have to revers up for other cars. We walked up to the Chapple at the summit called St Michael's Chapel. Took lots of photos, then drove back to the church and turned to parked near Penlee Point and they walked to the point and Queen Adelaide's Grotto I stayed with Reuben. Before the Theatre Shrek the Musical at Sterts I got 6 pasties for our supper we decided to eat before going in. it was strictly in our groups and with spaces between. I had wondered how a Musical of Shrek would play out, well as always Sterts Players were great and the Lord Farquare came on as a little man. (he was on his knees which remined us of Christmas 1992 and Phils Christmas Act)

Sunday 1st August
Church for me but Phil & family took part on line with SKCC.

On Top Family Haines!

Cheese ring by the short route Liskeard and out towards Siblyback Lake via St. Cleer but it was often on small roads, to my surprise its only a mile from Sterts. last time I’ve been there I stopped half way but today I went on and went up the rocks not as quick as every one else including Paulene but I got to the top of the Tor. Back home Phil & Bethany were competing with

Bethany

the Solitaire Rivit game which Reuben and I wasn’t able to complete.

Monday

Leaving Mooring

Paulene & I first went to Gloria’s Funeral before, In the boat to barbican and back. Phil rowed the family ashore Hannah had to get her feet wet as no one except me were wearing rubber boots, then he rowed Paulene ashore and helped me put away the engine before rowing me ashore. In the evening Phil and Hannah got a Chinese meal from Asian Wok and we had a film “The Secret Life of Pets” it was a nice evening.
