Summer Holidays started Wednesday 8th August 2018 with the.
fireworks Competition in Plymouth sound. We went with Ian Scott in his boat moored just off Drakes Island. It was unusual because normally it’s been Tues-Wed this year it started Wed. Nice evening out with dinner on board made by Ian, he’s very good but as normal we had a problem , it was only the starter Toast being aggressively toasted with his new oven. Three lots of fireworks and the waited for the traffic to die down, motored back to the mooring from there Ian motored us back in the middle of the night ashore with the inflatable.
Thursday Sarah Hydes and family arrived lunch time, I took them all but Paulene & Katelyn on the PennCirrus. Rowed out with Tom Sara & Isaac, sent Sarah back to get the some more but managed to fit the engine and motor in to the club wall, missed picking up Sarah so she had to row back to the wall. Loaded the tribe on Sarah H & Sarah B families that was 7 in total. Motored off, when it got quiet windy rounded Cremyll Buoy and started back the tide and wind made the water quite choppy. Sarah H knew the score and did a Titanic figure head on the front, thereby missing all the spray that landed in the cockpit. A trip that I hope will soon be forgotten as it was not the most enjoyable trip for the visitors to PennCirrus! Paulene & Katelyn took the Torpoint ferry for a ride, some wondered what to make of Katelyn wearing her life jacket, was it really necessary? We all were happy and had Tea, before our evening out to see the second fireworks evening. This time we drove to the top of Mount Edgcumbe parked where we meet their friends and walked to above the Folly, Tom’s question was how long to walk for a beer? The most unusual display was where a whole sphere of lights changed colour in a wave! We took Sarah B & Mark back to the house where they had left the car for them to start after midnight to drive back to the campsite in Padstow!
No rest for Paulene Philip Hannah Bethany & it’s Ruben arrive at lunch time, very early if they drove from Folkestone? Well they had had a visit to Longleat safari Park.
