a group of friends on the Torpoint Ferry, as they were going to pick up their guests

Friday  10th October 2008 there were a group of friends on the Torpoint Ferry, they were going to pick up their guests from the visiting choir

"A Travers Chants"

As the Choir arrived Louis and Mari Claude Brehin quickly found us.

As the Choir arrived Louis and Mari Claude Brehin quickly found us,  after we went for a small tour in the car round Plymouth, to see the night life!  Before catching the Torpoint Ferry, just as it was about to leave Devonport side of the Tamar.

The controls of Torpoint Ferry shown by Frank the driverOn their morning walk after breakfast Louis and Mari Claude Brehin had a ride across to Devonport and back and was shown the controls of Torpoint Ferry by Frank  the driver.

Paulene Communicating!

Louis and Mari Claude had to be very brave to come and stay with an English family as they could not speak much English, this is Paulene trying French, it was slow this way!

Paulene sang with the choir in Bénodet & Quimper last year and we felt that it would be nice to meet them. We had a great time over there, and they were all very hospitable to us on our visit.

It was hard work communicating but we enjoyed their visit to us. I showed them how to use Google to translate, on the computer. Luckily it is in the dinning room and it could be used often. We need to learn more French before we visit them!

St. James Church had a Christening display

After looking round Torpoint, we visited St. James Church which had a Christening display

Dinner was arranged for the choir in  Edgcumbe Arms Cremyll.

Then with beautiful sunshine we all had the afternoon in  Mount Edgcumbe Park.

On reaching the Folly we had a spectacular view of  Plymouth Sound.

On reaching the Folly we had a spectacular view of  Plymouth Sound. our concern was that Louis had enough breath left for the practice in one hours time.

Mount Edgcumbe House

We only had the time to walk down via the House. I drove the scenic way back via Millbrook & St. Johns. Louis was concerned by the narrow lanes and that we might have to back up and be delayed, so was I! But the views were worth it.
